But $1,000....  I like and use Dante a bit, but $1,000 for a couple of audio I/Os...

When Dante came out with the 2x2 chip, there were hopes of "low cost" products with Dante interfaces, but I guess that's gone by the wayside.   Oh well, maybe AES67 will get the job done...
The Delec box does a lot more than just 2 I/O so $1000 is not bad.  AES I/O and GPI/O as well as headset plus fiber.

If all you want is 2 in/out analog Studio Technologies 44D is $750.00

Then for $625:

Model 5205 Mic/Line Input to Dante Interface (Order Code: M5205)
General-purpose audio input device for use in Dante Audio-over-Ethernet applications. The rugged, compact, and portable unit features two mic/line inputs with adjustable gain, P48 phantom power, and level metering. The unit requires an Ethernet with Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) connection to supply both the data interface as well as power.

Or for Bare bones interface (you need to put it in a box) from Extron:

The Extron AXI 22 AT D is a single-gang Decora®-style audio interface for integrating two mic/line sources onto a Dante™-enabled DMP 128 audio system. It features two XLR audio inputs and switchable 48 volt phantom power for connecting and powering condenser microphones, plus gain controls for each input. The AXI 22 AT D also features two line outputs on the back for routing any two Dante channels from the network to an amplifier, or connecting into an optional secondary wallplate with two XLR outputs. The AXI 22 AT D interfaces with Extron Dante-equipped audio processors over a standard local area network, and can be powered through PoE. This greatly simplifies the cabling infrastructure for integrating audio connectivity in locations remote from a central equipment rack.

Radio Design Labs (the folks who make all those little stick-on audio gizmos) are also doing Dante:

I recently found (no idea how long they have been doing this) that Audinate is listing what appears to be all dante products in one location.
