1 watt UHF Radio Link Systems
« on: October 23, 2015, 07:28:03 AM »

Hi all,

Does anyone have any UK recommendations for purchasing dedicated 1 Watt radio link systems?

We currently hire systems from Handheld Audio which is exactly what we're after, however this is a 'Special" system they've had commissioned and naturally won't tell us where they had it made.
We had an issue with one on site once and opened the up the unit to find a SHURE UR1 pack in-side, with a hard-wired PSU feeding into a amplifier.

Obviously some nice PSM1000 would do the trick nicely, however we're looking for dedicated 1 watt systems we can hire out as a package, rather than using IEM/UHFR systems, with boosters.

Peter, pretty much all the systems you describe are just IEM/Mic systems with boosters. People select the IEM/Mic systems because of their audio quality, and then adapt the RF power as needed.

Wireless mics aren't small wattages because the vendors like cheap transistors.

Please note that you have to have special permission to use anything like that in the UK. You need to find out in advance whether it is even going to be permissible in your area.
