Reliability POLL - second round of voting.
« on: October 19, 2015, 05:44:14 PM »

I cleared the vote to add Presonus, and because a casual count of the replies indicated a large discrepancy between the replies and the count.
VOTE again please.

Please reply with failure type and results due to failure. Do not include failures related to remote software connectivity, however, please include failures related to stage boxes and optional add in cards.

If your answer is "Never a failure" please specify the mixer type.

I did a gig for Otis Elevator once. Like every job, it had it's ups and downs.

Knock on wood, X32, X32 rack and original o1v all with no failures. Did have a bad x-uf card on the full x32 originally but the replacement has been good. 2 years in on both Behringer units.

Owned a StudioLive 24.4.2 with no failures. A 16.0.2 with no failures and now an RM32AI since January with no failures. I always used a UPS with them every time I used the different mixers.

Missing a couple of brands on the poll. Presonus and QSC.

Soundcraft 324 - spontaneous reboot during final number on final night of week-long musical. Board was on UPS. No power issues noted with any other items. 68 degree ambient temp. No cause was ever found.

(Doesn't get much more "entry-level digital" than that console, though.)

SORRY. For the inapropriate reply. The poll at the top did not show up when viewing this with TapaTalk on my iPhone.

Venue mixrack: Bad RAM machine would not boot.

M7 CL: intermittent loss of external clock tracedto faulty bnc cable.
DM2000: would not reliably supply clock to external DACs. Solved with external clock.

SD8: one random freeze; occasional (twice) reboots required to get all auxes working. Fortunately, all before sound check - has not failed during a show.

I have had or still have 2 Soundcraft Expression 1, Expression 3 and a Performer 2. I had one of the first Expressions in the country and my Performer is only a few months old. I also have used there stage boxes and cards. I have never had an issue and the 2 I don't have I sold to local churches and they haven't had any issues with them.
