$500 price drop on SI Impact

I thought this was kind of interesting.

I guess the drop is to compete with the X32.

Since the function and quality are near the same, others have to have competitive prices to compete.

Behringer's model of pricing products based on price of production instead of what the market might bear for a product are creating quite the shakeup now that they are producing a quality product that can compete against the long standing players.

Can't argue with this.

It is a very competitive mixer to the X32.

The only real deficiency I see is that it lacks the additional 6 aux inputs of the X32 which brings the X32 input count to 38.  I suppose it also lacks the additional 6 outputs as well.

I do really like the channel eq knobs of the Soundcraft vs the X32.  At $2300.00 it is amazing what one can get these days!

Waited all these years and jumped too soon.  Gonna have to live with my Expression 2 for awhile.  It wasn't worth the differential for the Impact, but now it would be a no-brainer.  Maybe the stage boxes will come down too.

That's an amazing deal for that board, and I'll guarantee that anyone who does a side by side comparison would choose the Soundcraft.

32 mic inputs
8 combination inputs
40 DSP input channels
31 output busses
8 VCA's
8 mute groups
20 sub group / aux busses
4 mono or stereo matrix busses
32x32 recording with Ableton live supplied
16 output channels

I don't see the deficiency.

Plus two expansion slots for;
Optical MADI
DUAL cat5 MADI
Cobranet
Aviom A-NET
AES/EBU
AES/EBU D-type
BLU link
Rocknet
Multi digital
Dante

WIFI and hard wired Ethernet at the same time
ACS, one button, one knob user interaction
Channel glow
D.O.G.S
Quality faders
.7ms latency end to end
BSS EQ on every output
Lexicon effects x4
Fast and logical input/output assignment, any in to any out or group or matrix.

Soundcraft Compact Stagebox
A high density of I/O connections in only 4U of rack space. The modular unit is fully configurable but is
offered with a standard configuration of 32 mic/line inputs, 8 line outputs, 8 channels of AES/EBU outputs
and 2 expansion slots for standard Studer D21m I/O cards. The D21m is the I/O architecture for Studer as
well as Soundcraft digital mixing systems and allows connection to most popular digital formats, including
CobraNet®, AVIOM A-Net®16, Ethersound, ADAT and RockNet. A MADI recording interface can also be
fitted to the expansion slots.
