Guys, I am tring to help my dad issolate a problem with the video camera at church. The camera is a Panasonic AVCCAM AG-HMC150.

If you walk across the carpet in the booth were the camera is setup on a decent tripod and touch the positioning arm on the tripod the image will glitch. We have narrowed it down to static electric.  How do we either isolate the camera or ground it.

A mixture of fabric softener sprayed on the carpet can help.

Do a search for static electricity, and you'll find two main topics: digital audio snakes and static shocks audible through the sound system.
