QU-16 how to get extra L/R outs
« on: June 30, 2015, 01:38:53 PM »

I need to run one extra speaker and I want it to be a mono mix of the main L/R outs. How can i get one of the mix outputs to do this so that whenever a change is made in the main mix it would also occur in the mono mix?
Also, I would strongly prefer it be XLR and not one of the 1/4" outs.
Thanks

You use the Alt Out configured to be L+R.  Loosen up that death-grip on your wallet and get a couple of TRS>XLRM pigtails.  Otherwise you'll have a much more complicated and cumbersome routing and extra work.

Thanks Dick. I'm sure I have the adaptors kicking around somewhere, I just always avoid using them if there is a more direct way. Maybe not in this case.

Ah. Even easier than I thought. I can set those alt outs to mono/post master fader. Just a TRS to XLR cable and I'm good to go.

That's what Dick was trying to tell you.  /nudge, wink
