I used the drawmer for years until I got a digital console. Be aware that the only connectors on the drawmer are XLR. If the samsons are using 1/4 connectors you will have to upgrade your patch snakes too.

Great info about the heat-sink; most of the units I've seen (so far) have had the black fronts.  I'll look closer on any ones that I now see.  Yes, the XLR connections are sort of a "set-back", but nothing an adapter can't fix!
