What about attaching a ring of spikes around the top of the mic? Nice and sharp….he he….

Been done.

I've bought flags from http://impactpbs.com/. Decent prices and very durable. And they sell blank flags.

When I bought them years ago, they came with 2 foam inserts. One for 58 sized mics and one for thinner mics like an RE16. They didn't include foam for a wireless, so I drilled them out with a hole saw. Maybe they have foam made for wireless mics though.

I did this exact thing for a band I worked for back in the '90s.  I went the low-cost route, using a wide rubber band with thumbtacks pushed through from the inside.  It worked for one set, then the singer forgot and got poked, so he pushed it off and it slid down the mic cable.  It worked as a reminder, though, and I would threaten to do it again if he cupped the mic again.  It was an on-and-off battle.
