Looking to buy an audio interface. Any suggestions for one under $75. I just purchased a Lexicon Alpha from Amazon and found out it doesnt have phantom power. Don't want to buy a seprate phantom power box for it. Thanks

Return the Alpha and look for a used Lambda.  Still usb powered and has the phantom power you require.  New, they're about a $100.00 MAP, you can probably find a willing dealer to let one go for less.

As much as I hate to admit it, I use the UMC202 for "day to day" measurements.

It simply works so well it is stupid.

No software-no drivers.  Just plug it in and the software (Smaart V7) sees it.  Why can't other products do this?

It works just fine.

Hey, if it works, it works, right?  Nothing wrong with that.  It looks like a pretty impressive piece of gear especially for the price.

In the measurement world, what's kind of difference would you expect to see using a 96k device versus a 44.1k or 48k device such as the Lexicon model I mentioned earlier?

Smaarts MTW doesn't work above a 48k sampling rate anyway. I can't tell how the other software handle it though.

I would argue that the differences would be more than offset by the measurement microphone.

And also-what are you going to do with the added information?  I hope not try to EQ it.  Just move the mic a foot or so and see if STILL want to make the change-------

MTW seems to be working just fine on my computer, 48K 24 bit using a Roland Octacapture!!  Ah, my bad, I misread, thought you meant *at* 48K, not *above* 48K.  Considering the market Rational is targeting with Smaart, measuring beyond 20,000 Hz seems moot nonetheless.

I had my second scarlett die on me last week so I just ordered this one and it came in yesterday.

To use ASIO you have to get a third party add on software, I used asio4all.

I've only done some testing in the office, with headphones and with a transformer iso box I've been meaning to test.

worked fine, I hope it is more robust than the scarlett, one funny look and they'd fail.
