I came a across a pair of unloaded Community CSX-40 subs for real cheap and figured these would go good in my basement.  Looking for some ideas of what to load them with.

Anyone have a clue about what would work nice inside of these cabs?

Thanks.

Either the OEM drivers or, measure the inside of the box and the ports and then someone can suggest a driver.

Call me crazy, but how about getting in touch with Community, and asking them?

For what?  For endtables?, a cat box?    Potted plants?  Subs for a practice system?  Home theatre sub?

Or maybe some other kinky thing you do in your basement.

Knowing what you think they would be good for would be a good start.

I'd use them to provide the low end for a pair of Mackie SRM450s...

And to repeat the question-What are you going to use the Mackies for?

We have no idea-unless you tell us.

People use all kinds of loudspeakers for all kinds of different things-often not what they were intended for.

It could be that your expectations are not at all what they could be used for (properly anyway), and it could be that they would be just fine.

What do you do in your basement?

My basement is simply a recreation area where my friends and I spin records.  I use the Mackies for mains.
