For comparison I decided to bring in one SM 80/TH 118 for this show. Same band in the same venue a month ago I used 2 SRX712/ 4 SRX 718. People and bartenders knew there was something different. Comments like" I felt like I was at a concert at Madison Square Garden". "Wow, they sounded  so  much better than last show". I heard these comments as people exited the venue. The owner asked what I did different. Less and better equipment is what I told him.

Something must be wrong. I can hear the vocal over the kick. ;D

Can't have too many vids out there showing this set-up. One of your other vids completly sold me on these. Now I just need a business case to acquire them.

I don't really understand all the science behind it, but I know that the SM 80 completely destroys a SRX 722 in output/clarity and overall performance. Maybe Ivan will chime in here.

Just for the record here, I own in my inventory, rent and run on a regular basis, JBL  PRX  612, 618XLF, DSR 112, PRX 700 series, SRX 712, 715, 722, 725, 718, 728, EAW KF 650,  QSC, KW 153, 122, K10, K12, Danley SM 80, TH 118.

Clip from a show,  500 capacity room where I used to  run 2 722/2 728 per side. 1 SM 80 and TH 118 per side got the job done with plenty of headroom to spare.

Where is this venue?

Looks like the Steamboat Grand Hotel ballroom

If so, I use 3/side vertec '88's in there over 4 subs. Not really my choice, I just tech the rig.

Bullwinkle: This is the amplifier, which amplifies the sound. This is the Preamplifier which, of course, amplifies the pree's.

Foeger Ballroom, Jay Peak Resort. For the A level acts they bring in a Meyer Melodie/HP 700 system. Doesn't ever sound as good as the Danley rig.
