How deep is your rack (The racpac is 7"), is your rack custom, do you have any photos, do you know approx price of this racpac ?

The RackPacks are available in 1U, 2U or 3U, depending on the configuration you want. They're only about 6" deep, though.

When I ordered 2 of the Motion Labs units last summer, L21-30 I/O and 4-20A circuits they were $476 each plus shipping. Buy Once, Cry Once.

I keep a spare 3RU 50A RacPac in a 10" deep EWI rack. It works pretty well, although the connectors are a little ways up in the back of the rack. For as rarely as it's used, it suits me just fine.

FWIW, Motion Labs also makes a 50A stringer box, if you didn't want a rackmount version. I've used the 30A 3ph version of these boxes, and they're built very well. The 50A stringer only has 4 circuits though, so that might be a dealbreaker.

I have products from both companies, and in my opinion, Motion Labs is a huge step up in quality from Ampshop. It's also a big step up in price, but you get what you pay for.

Since you are using power cons, check out this
www.triktags.com/power.htm

I have this and it's worked out excellently for me. I have long Edison to powercon cables that feed the distro from various wall power, and then I have 2-3 circuits available on one panel. This is also extremely affordable and the ground bussing is very helpful for the usual problems of using multiple far away Edison circuits. It's also dirt cheap. This and a motion labs powercon rac pac would be both doable and completely cover your needs.

Some options here:

http://www.ampshop.com/distro.html
This is what I have.  Except they made me one with PowerCons instead of Edisons.  The price was very reasonable compared to MotionLabs and others.  I also made my own Power Con based Poor Man's Distro into a 1U industrial power strip that sits in the bottom of my amp rack.  This way if I have access to a California outlet I can run the distro and have PowerCon feeders to the amp rack along with quad boxes, stage stringer and a long run for FOH.  If all there is are Edisons, I find as many circuits as I can using a circuit sniffer and run Edison to PowerCon feeder cables to the poor man's distro and then back out though the same quad boxes.

Note that this much copper gets heavy.  The Amp Shop distro came with a 50' feeder, and I bought another 50' extension from the local electrical supply house.  I just have one extra CS receptacle and put dryer/stove/etc plugs onto it as needed after fronting the gig.  The CS inline receptacles are not cheap.

Hi, Im a small entry level sound provider and professional DJ. Im in need of Distro recommendations suited for my small system.

My priorities are small, light weight, portability and simplicity (no HOME MADE DIY).

My system is 4 (6 in the future) jbl vrx932lap  tops over 4 (6 in the future) jbl vrx918sp subs.
All speakers are rated at 120v and 6amps.

My distro knowledge is also beginner/entry level but i do have some electrical back ground and learn quickly.

I have used this company before.  Great product, price and service.
