Do you all get many requests for a w9 from companies hiring your company as a subcontractor?  Is it only other companies hiring your company as a subcontractor that do this?  If the primary client is hiring your company it does not apply?

I have one client who needs a new w9 every year.  They hire me out on behalf of their client.  Other clients of mine in the same situation never ask for anything.

Just seeing what others face.

i get requests form almost everyone for a w-9 every year, Unless the $ amount was less than $600
