Geesh, $100K, for those types and sizes of shows, what will you be charging, does your biz plan support that? A Roth may be a better investment...

For mobility and ease of use the SM80 and TH118 rig starts to look real good

For outdoor shows you would certainly want at least two TH118 per side if using one SM80 (per side). I have four SM80 and eight TH118 and while the SM80 is incredible for its size it does have limits. I don't think one SM80 would replace TWO KF850 per side. Danley has some more powerful top boxes if you want something bigger.

I've checked all of the Danley stuff, the only problem I see is that most of it seems like you have to fly them and I'm really trying to stay away from doing that.
I dig the SH96HO and BC415 combo just insanely heavy and obviously pricey.

For a few hundred people the SM80's should do the job. I've used only used them indoors in a big room for 400 people but I had headroom to spare and some people thought it was too loud.
How many subs you need will depend on what style and how much bass you like. If you need more bass you can add more subs and still be way below what you'd expect to pay.

Throwing something different out there, I regularly run outdoor shows for 500+ using a pair of EV QRX 153/75 over a pair of Yorkville LS2100p per side for lower level National and bigger name Regional acts and every BE has been happy with the sound. This isn't the lightest rig as the subs are over 200lbs each but it sets up quickly and gets the job done without having to be pushed.

How does the SM80 compare to a SRX725 and I don't mean volume or throw but rather the natural "full range" of a duel 15 and horn box. It would seem that the SM80 would have a "thin" sound compared to a SRX725.
I haven't heard a SM80 before so that's why I'm asking
Maybe Ivan can shed some light on this thought?
