A small install system
« on: February 06, 2015, 05:34:18 PM »

We have been asked to install a very small sound system in a locker room. This is for the tennis team and the room is so small  (16' x 12') that 1- ceiling mounted speaker would be adequate for coverage but we will include 2- for redundancy. They want to use this system to playback music from the team member's phones via Bluetooth. I am looking for an integrated mixer/amplifier which include Bluetooth capability. No more than 100 watt amp should give us plenty of headroom and either 70 volt or 8 ohm output is fine as we can go either way with a maximum speaker cable run of 15'.

Thanks for the help!   Bill Robison

Sounds like you just need one of these...

Add in a pole cup wall mount....

And done.

Another option is the Sonos Connect Amp.  It won't do 70v, but it's 55w x2 and will work with iOS and Android.  The user would just need to download the app and be on the same wifi network as the Sonos Player.  Works with just about any music streaming service, plus it will stream content directly from the phone/tablet.

You probably don't even need a 100W system, for one modest sized room. We made 70V systems as small as 5W...

I don't know anything about bluetooth for install, it wasn't popular back when I was messing with this stuff.
