The question shall be... What are the Loaded Presets?
What drivers are loaded in there?

They are networked via cat5 and can be accessed via Audio Architect or an iPad app specific for them. The rep gave me a quick demo of the drag and drop setup in the app. I didn't see the list of presets though.

I hope they at least give you some base lines choices to work with to build your pre-sets.  I'm stealing a page from the EV's book because I like the way EV has their ETX's set-up and you pick you Low Pass (80, 100, 120, 150), Type of Material (Recorded Music/Live) and Position (Normal or Cardioid).  Then you can adjust the Delay, Room EQ and Polarity.

I just hope its not a "we've built a fixed base line setting" now you can go build your presets without any choices or assistance.

They are locking. I asked the Harman rep why they didn't use powercon and he said it was a cost issue. Nice looking cabs up close. I was really intrigued by the 835. Didn't get to hear them though.

I'm really starting to lose faith in JBL to make a comprehensive product. Powercon is the accepted professional standard for power in an application like this, especially subs. Yet they managed to use a Neutrix Ethercon for the network. Where are the drivers from, Selenium? Is the amp and DSP  from China?  Makes me think this product line is a knee jerk reaction to others eating their lunch.

I'm really starting to lose faith in JBL to make a comprehensive product. Powercon is the accepted professional standard for power in an application like this, especially subs. Yet they managed to use a Neutrix Ethercon for the network. Where are the drivers from, Selenium? Is the amp and DSP  from China?  Makes me think this product line is a knee jerk reaction to others eating their lunch.

Drivers are Differential Drive while HF is 2432H, so it's the same as STX800 and Marquis Dance Club series. I assume this is a poor man's VP considering where this slots in JBL's lineup in the MI market.

Really guys?  Powercon has market penetration in about .01% of devices that plug in the wall.  The vast majority of semi-pro gear in the world uses regular IEC or locking IEC.  Yes there are a few non-touring boxes that have Powercons, but QSC K, KW don't, Yamaha DSR/DXR don't, JBL PRX don't, Mackie SRM series don't, etc.

If I could change one thing about them, I'd put the neo back in so the boxes weigh 45lbs instead of 60, but other than that, they look REALLY nice for the price.

Agree... if Behringer/Turbosound can put PowerCon In/Out on their IQ series $550-1000... why aren't others doing it?

The HATE for IEC is lack of ability to build your own cables.  It doesn't matter if Locking or Not... locate me an IEC plug that is priced similar to a PowerCon with the same durability.

I guess for convenience, if you forget the powercon back at the shop and the distance is too great from shop to venue, you're hosed. Whereas if there is a nearby electronics shop that has IEC readily available, plug in and go!

Not if you already use PowerCon for a lot of things.  I own a few PowerCon Active speakers, a bunch of PowerCon Quad boxes and Siamese/Combo cables with PowerCons ends and about 500' of Edison-to-PowerCon and PowerCon-to-PowerCon cabling.  I want to only own 1 set of power/signal combo cables that are all PowerCon.  I don’t want to worry about grabbing the right combo cable for a job.

I only have 2 IEC cables that float in my system and those are for Lighting (BTW, which is also starting to move into PowerCon)

I would definitely say that SRX is semi-pro compared to db, Nexo, JBL's new VTX F series, etc. 

If it really bothers you, you can actually make your own cables with IEC connectors: http://www.bulgin.co.uk/Products/IEC_Connectors/IEC_Power_Connectors.html, or you can cut the Edison plug off the male end of the IEC cord and put a Powercon inlet connector on.

What do you do for stage power?  Expect everyone's guitar amps to have Powercons?
