memorizing eq?

i started interning at this live music venue and my audio wizard told me to memorize the eq band. is he talking about where sibilance occurs and where differant instruments lie on the scale in htz? i have to start learning how to eq witha 31 band graphic rack. steer me i nthe right direction

The right direction is using your full real name on these forums.

… and posting in the Lounge, as opposed to the Classic LAB. This is the "Big Boy" forums, for the regionals/national touring acts mixing Bands That You've Heard Of.

Yes you'll actually get some useful suggestions once you change your forum name to your real name.  Til then, for some reason it can be a bit more like Klown Kollege.

I always find it funny when newbies get called on this, as this forum is at the top of the list and there's nothing anywhere that says don't post here unless you're a pro.

I think it needs a new name, or at least a new description.
