Where do you typically set the input gain on your powered speakers?

I turn them all the way up
- 3 (14.3%)
I set them at the normal/0/+4dbu position
- 17 (81%)
I have system tested for best s/n ratio and gain structure and set them there
- 1 (4.8%)

Depends on the speaker manufacture. Not all are the same.

Real men don't need/read user manuals (or ask for directions), right?. <sound of wives and girlfriends laughing>

Absent the manual, press any line/mic switch for line use, then 12:00 o'clock straight up is the guessing/beginning point if there is no silk screened legend.  If it's not loud enough, turn it up more.  If it's too sensitive, turn it down.

If it's not loud enough, turn it up more.  If it's too sensitive, turn it down.
