Mackie pre amps? Not for me thank you.
I've never had a problem with the Onyx preamps on my Onyx 1640; IMO they sound as good or better than anything else I've used(which is a pretty short list). They're much better than the old 1604-VLZ preamps. If the ones on this are as good as the Onyx ones I'd be happy with them. Sure they're not APB or Midas but what else is?

+1, Tommy! Looks like in addition to Behringer-fobia we need another one: Mackie. "I just can't stand anything that has _____ name on it!" (fill the bank)

Agree, Onyx preamps sounds great for the price (as most Mackie gear, right tool for the right job). They are supposedly improved in DL32R. Even in tiny DL1608 they do the job fine, I use it quite often for small gigs.

Of course, if you have MIDAS at the shop, it will sounds better. But will you take MIDAS to club gig or karaoke party?

You're late, that party has been going on since at least 1997.

I am looking forward to a good shoot out review of all the rack mounted mixers!

FWIW, you can get an X32 Rack and an S16 for price of a DL32R.

I just grabbed two demo x32 racks for about what it would have cost for x32/s16. Gives me the ability to run one 32x16 or 2 independent 16x8 systems.

... an even more impressive combination IMHO.

Never thought I would be saying something like this .... say 5 years ago....

Behringer has set the bar pretty high ;)

I have used the mackie VLZ mixer for years,I picked up one of these and was quite unhappy with the sound of the Pre as well as its sensitivity.. now debating the presonus and the Beringer. 2 of my friends are set on the Beringer
