Good, Better, and Best in Whites in LED's--and cost effective?
« on: October 04, 2014, 12:37:07 AM »

It's been a good year so far.  Getting a little bit more corporate work, and ran into a bit of a problem at an event last night.  It was two authors discussing their works, and I just brought in my generic RGB LED's and thought the lighting was okay.  The local TV guys came in about 30 minutes prior to the event and told me the color temperature was bad.  I didn't have time to get down to the truck and grab a couple of Par 64's, but they had a couple lights they hooked up quickly and it looked better, I thought.  I'm obviously not much of a lighting guy!

So here's my need---a good set of LED's that will deliver good whites as well as all the other goodies.  I hate that feeling of bidding a job and setting everything up and it being wrong.  I don't want to be in that position again, as far as lighting goes.  Help!!!

Budget?

Good - one of the multitude of LEDs using the newer combo chips that are RGBAW and UV. Elation and Chauvet maker them.

Better - look at some of the fixtures that chroma q has, ac lighting is their value added distributer

Best - etc d40 lustr

If you want a dedicated white light that's camera friendly, take a look at the Chroma-Q studio force line;

*Note: I work for the distributor
