I may need to change the mains at my church.

Will two EV Sx100+ speakers with a QSC RMX1450 amp work as mains in a auditorium that has 3,200 sq. feet?

There would be very little difference on paper.  I'd probably give the edge to the EAW's you have now?

The setup (which I inherited) is set to bridge-mode mono and I want to change it to stereo. I was told that would sound nicer but I'd need new amps. I was thinking I could save some money using the EV's and amp I already have to change the sound system from mono to stereo.

In most situations changing from mono to stereo will not make much difference. I used to run the system at one church I mix at in stereo and recently changed to mono. I can't tell the difference in quality. Unless you're running stereo sources or doing a lot of panning I don't think stereo will make much if any difference.

What kind of material are you running through the speakers?

As Tommy says, mono or stereo won't make much of a difference...if any.  You can't expect to do a live stereo mix with two speakers.  If you start panning things l/r, you will only achieve a half-way decent stereo image at one spot:  the mix position.   Everyone else will suffer from a lop-sided image with one or the other channel being weak depending on their seating position.

I would recommend leaving things just as they are.

Are we using the right amp for the mains we currently have?

Here's some info on the amp and speakers I have:

QSC RMX 1450(Amp is brigded)

Model	8Ω	4Ω	2Ω*	Bridged 4Ω*
RMX1450	280	450	700	1400

EAW FR129z - 8ohms 500watts. ( both speakers are daisy chained )

If did my math correctly, it seems like both speakers are getting 700watts (1,400 watts total). Will that burn the speakers out?

The set-up is fine as is.  Just enjoy using it and learning how to run live sound.  You just need to practice and ask questions when they occur.  Do not change anything, just learn how to use it properly.

Your first question regarding muffled sound and the simple remedy provided signal that you are in the first stages of using sound gear.  That is not the time to start second-guessing things regarding the components and configuration of what appears to be a nice and properly configured little system.
