The quickest load in/out I have ever seen was three of my friends.  Each plays an amplified instrument (guitar/mandolin/etc.) and each has a microphone.

They turned up with an acoustic guitar amplifier each, placed by the side of them, pointing up at forty five degrees with their instrument and microphone plugged in.  Each of them was responsible for their own sound.

For the size of room it was in, it worked perfectly!
