Yamaha CL5 Touchscreen Protector
« on: July 22, 2014, 11:56:02 PM »

Hi All:

I'm considering a screen protector for our CL5's touchscreen, wondering if anyone has found a good solution for this.  Size is about 8-3/8" wide by 6-3/8" tall, and my first quick Internet search did not yield anything with those dimensions.  Also there are so many different styles out there...glossy, anti-glare, low tack adhesive vs. 'static cling' adhesive, different materials, etc.  Has anyone found what works for this board?  Is there anything I should avoid?  I would rather not experiment any more than I need to.

Ideas appreciated, actual experience preferred...

Thanks.

Anyone ever tried these?  Appears they can be ordered in custom sizes, but I'm not familiar with the company, also still have the same adhesive vs. no adhesive questions, material, etc.

So is anyone putting screen protectors on their console touchscreens?  Are there any good ones with a 'static cling' adhesive?  I like the idea of easy removal later on.

I've used the same screen protector on all of my touch screen consoles since the M7 as those used in grocery store POS systems that experience much higher usage rates.  Except for a couple of very greasy, home brew carnie level food service set ups that featured saran wrap over the display I have never seen a screen protector on commercial touch screen systems.  Worst case scenario on the CL5 and QLs we have now is grubby fingers leave marks that look bad off axis but are not an issue on axis to the operator.  Cleaning wipes to the rescue.

There are two (2) major manufacturers, 3M and Viewgaurd. Viewguard has the largest selection and the better product. Their product includes privacy filters, anti glare screens and protective screens. Shop by size and type.
