Yamaha Console File Convertor
« on: March 23, 2011, 09:09:00 AM »

Am I correct on thinking this has not actually materialized yet?
Have to run an M7 show on a 5D this weekend.
Time to check out OpenMixTools?

I guess not... Yamaha was supposed to release in winter of 2010, I guess they missed that deadline  :P.
I suppose you could go the OpenMix route... Do you have many scenes? If not, I'm one to just commit and have a 2 hour sit-down at the computer and manually copy the show over. May not even take you that long..  ::)

Apparently the first step to using OpenMixTools is don't upgrade to FireFox 4.

Seems to work fine on FireFox 3.6.15.
Head amp gains didn't convert. No big deal.
Saved a bunch of typing, at the very least.

it's great to see people using it! :-)

Support for FF4 is ready, I just didn't pack and upload the addon yet - will happen in the next days. That next version will include matrix import, so you can convert 24 mixes of the M7 to a PM5. The other way round will last a little longer. If someone wants to try out a beta of that functionality contact me.

Maybe some day I'll include the PM5 headamp - the way they are encoded in the file is a bit strange.

I know this topic is a little old, but I read today the File Convertor will be released this week at Musikmesse in Frankfurt as well as the LS9 Stagemix, which I really look forward to.

I just uploaded the new version
(the automatic update in firefox should bring it to you)

as mentioned above: works with FF4, lets you convert 24 mixes from M7 to PM5

It came out today, shame it's Windows only at the moment.

enables users to convert file formats between the PM5D/DSP5D and M7CL, and the M7CL and LS9

So to go from a 5d to ls9, you have to convert to a m7 first?

Yes, I did it yesterday. There´s no problem, the conversion takes only a few seconds.

Any mention from Yamaha as to when the Mac version will be available?

No, and I´m worried! Why is it taking so long?
