So what's the problem

The color coding... Or lack thereof. *facepalm* Gotta love that random automotive looking red wire on the right side.

The better question is WHERE is the G-Round... frank

Here it is-the white wire (maybe 18 awg) running across the top of the cast drain line and sorta wrapped around the pipe strap-yes it is attached to the ground wire (only piece of NM with a ground I could find).  Unfortunately, this "ground" is less than useless, since there is a repair consisting of about 36" of PVC in the cast drain line just above the floor.  Any fault to this EGC would merely result in energizing every metallic plumbed drain in the house.  Shower anyone?

Kinda like what I envisioned.  I was thinking dogs, as cats are so hard to get to do anything together.

Somebody took the effort to drill 18 holes in steel bar stock to make this contraption.

It never ceases to amaze me how much money, time, and effort people will expend just to avoid doing something correctly.

The right way is usually the cheap, easy, and fast way; if not initially then long-term it will be.
