CL series, Nuendo Live - now with Timecode!
« on: April 16, 2014, 02:57:15 PM »

hello all,
First off let me say i am in no way affiliated with Figure53 or Lockstep.
We get into a good bit of recording for television and video production.  Recently upgraded to the CL5 for our larger events and still use a rack of Tascam X48's for redundant 48 track record with timecode lock.  Been searching for a way to use Nuendo live on the Dante network and found Lockstep, see http://figure53.com/
Simply takes timecode as an audio input from RIO, console surface omni's across the Dante network and ports it to your audio application on the computer as midi timecode.
You will need Dante virtual soundcard as well.  Did extensive testing yesterday and it works very well with Nuendo Live and Nuendo 4 for recording locked to code and playback chasing timecode.
It appears you could use almost any input or audio program.
Best part is its only $20.
enjoy.

I am also a massive Lockstep fan.

For larger tracking projects, I normally use Boom Recorder, which has always incorporated this within the program, but Lockstep opens this up to all DAWs.

It obviously works great with Qlab too, instead of buying pricey Rosendahl MIFs...
