Maybe it has a downward angle like the horns on QRX?

The 40x40 is one of a number of options that can be ordered for the same enclosure. The hron remark doesn't apply, obviously, to the 40x40, but applies to the other models all using the same cabinet.

"Six full-range models operable in biamp or passive mode from 50 Hz to 18 kHz are each rated at 600W continuous program. A half-dozen different coverage patterns are spread across the line: 40x40 (Model iHP1244), 60x40 (Model iHP1264), 60x60 (Model iHP1266), 90x40 (Model iHP1294), 90x60 (Model iHP1296), and 90x90 (Model iHP1299)."

One could argue that it does still apply as the horn is indeed rotatable, although that doesn't seem to be of much potential benefit for the 40x40, 60x60 and 90x90 models.

With the matching numbers on the horns might the answer also be is the horn equal 20 up and 20 down or is it 10 up and 30 down?  This would need the rotation to keep the 30 down to hit the audience correctly.

Once upon a time, I created product sheets like the one shown, and my immediate supervisor was the person now in charge of doing this for Community, so I know a little bit about the process.

They may have agonized over how to word this bullet point. Or, they may have not given it much thought at all. It's a tough call.

My guess is that given all the other information provided in the product sheet, most potential buyers of this not-so-entry-level product could figure it out for themselves.

If the horn had an asymmetrical pattern, I am confident that the product sheet would say so, since those kinds of details can be kind of a big deal to system designers and installers.

JBL puts a name plate on the bottom inside of the horn.  Maybe they have a name sticker on the bottom of the horn and when you hang the box on its side you rotate the horn so the name sticker is on the bottom for all to see.   Hows that for wingin it? :)

Maybe it should say 40 x 40 rotatable horn. Not that it's going to make any difference. or it might be that if you don't rotate the horn the music comes out all sideways.
