Midas Pro1 Keyboard backlight failure issue...
« on: February 22, 2014, 04:04:29 PM »

Hello,

The backlight in my Pro1 keyboard failed a couple of weeks ago. It no longer turns on when I toggle the backlight button. Midas sent me a replacement which I tried today and...the backlight doesn't work on it either.

I noticed a small battery compartment on the underside of the keyboard; looks like it takes two or more AAA batteries (I don't have any AAA batteries right this minute otherwise I'd try putting some in to see what happens).

Does anyone know if this compartment is supposed to provide power for the backlight in the event that a USB port doesn't provide power? I'm wondering if the USB ports have stopped providing power. I plugged the keyboard into all three USB ports and no backlight.

The keyboard that came with the console, whose backlight used to work, does not have any batteries in the battery compartment so I assumed power for the backlight came via the USB socket.

Before I go back to Midas I was wondering if other Pro1 owners have had this issue.

Thank you,

Stuart
