Nah I'm still old school and a fan of the QRX. Line arrays are for sissies. How come Carvin never releases anything at NAMM?
Driven by a Driverack PA. Don't forget the Auto EQ! The "smiley" curve give your system the "HI-FI" edge! ;D

lol

Lol. I've only heard a VRX rig once that I remember and wasn't all that impressed, but it was obviously being pushed too hard(noticeable distortion, could have been mixer/processor clipping but I think it was the speakers).

Am I off base in suggesting that everyone who responds to a post should actually read that post first? If the OP says , for example, "My budget is $xxxx", why do responders suggest something that would be 4-5 times that amount? If the OP says " I play in small rooms and only mic the vocals", why does the discussion veer into powered subs? I don't mind the threads going off-topic, as that is the nature of these types of forums and part of the allure, but let's at least try to help the OP before we go down the rabbit hole.
I think there's a subtle difference between going off-topic, which most threads do, and responding to the OP with a completely useable response. The first usually adds a little bonus information to the thread, the latter often has malicious intent.  Passive aggressive way to say "I'm so much more a Pro than you'll ever be".

No shit, that's why I come here to ask questions, and you're telling me I should buy monitors that cost as much as the entire rest of my rig.

Thanks for standing up for the inexperienced and uninformed Duane! Those of us who come here to learn appreciate it.

Speaking of monitors, what is the best kick drum mic to use if the drummer has his bass drum tuned to an F#?

Thankfully not this one.

I hate it when topics go off at a tangent.  Speaking of tangents...

With an Earthworks Kickpad. Remove the grill for the SM57 'esque sound.

You wrong you need to buy an x32 its the answer to every problem an audio guy could run into, you don't even need to use a sonic maxinizer with it...  ::)
You definitely need to buy a line array...
