Salads are healthier.

Never seen a healthy salad.  As far as I know, most of the stuff is dead or dying.  :'(

In England a salad is lettuce, tomatoes, cucumber, celery, etc. It would appear that in the US a salad is anything mixed with mayonnaise.

It's this kind of stuff:

I'm looking for a good bang-for-buck mic to replace my SM58.  The Shure doesn't really do it for me.  Something around the same price range, +/- $25.

Have you tried the Shure SM58?  It's a proven workhorse mic.

All right, I deserve the responses.
And I've found that Cesar salads provide the best coverage if powered by 2k of bacon bits, unless you're a drummer outdoors with bad IEMs and a Behringer kick drum.

Not really.  But that didn't seem to stop us.  :P

All right, I deserve the responses.

Seems like most responses indicated agreement with your original statement.

Three things tends to happen in any thread.

1. Unwillingness to accept the premise of the original post.
Q: "How can I increase coverage without getting a bigger rig?"
A: "You need to get a bigger rig"

2. Not getting the full content of the original post.
Q: " My rig is distorting when I try to cover a big crowd, so I'm looking for a bigger rig"
A: " If your rig is distorting you haven't got enough rig for the gig."

3. The thread veering off topic.

1. and 2. is often accompanied with the original poster getting chastised for asking the question in the first place, which is even worse from the op's point of view of course.

Well I'm glad that someone has finally started a thread where we can sensibly discuss the merits of behringer cables and monster amps.

Oh, and I think that 240vac is so much better than 115vac.  That's why the Beatles were great and why US bands suck.

No, the Stones ARE great, and Yoko Ono killed the Beatles. Of course where would either of those two bands be today had they not been able to copy American songs. Silly island dweller.

Sister Rosetta Tharpe- Google and study

And you can hear the source of almost all modern music in the recordings of Tampa Red.

:-)  Looking at my music collection it seems I have a thing for US bands too.  I was just trying to get another swerve into this thread...

Ok then, back to the point, I concede that 115vac is musically superior to 240vac.
