Note that this device doesn't really have the capacity to do a "clean install" as you might with another device, as the 'secure boot' function requires that you recover the OS from the local 8 GB recovery partition, not from a thumb drive install. That being said, there isn't really any non-Asus bloatware on the device, unless you count Kindle or Netflix as bloat. There are also several MS default personal apps (Food, News, Sports) but they don't get in the way in my experience.

Just to satisfy my curiosity, as a computer geek, I did a Google search and there is a way to bypass the secure boot and apparently someone over at the
XDA forums managed to get Ubuntu to boot on it but the touchscreen and a bunch of other stuff didn't work. In short the only OS that really works on it right now is Win8.1; Win7 doesn't have the necessary EFI boot file.
