CM-311A lives on!
« on: November 11, 2013, 02:45:27 AM »

Greetings --

I've a drummer buddy who sings through a CM-311A on an LX4.  The RF system has died and he wants to cable the mic until he can afford a new one.

Can I gin up a TA4MBX-to-AA3M adapter?  AKA a mini XLR 4-pin male to XLR 3-pin male?

Thanks ----

You will need the crown pack specifically, putting 48V to capsule will toast it. Sorry I don't know if these are available separately.

Just to be clear, when the Crown mic comes as part of the Shure wireless system, the Shure beltpack is specifically matched to the mic, ie, a unique P/N? Thanks.

I'm pretty sure the issue is the +48v.  Most wireless bodypacks put out 12v or something like that, instead of 48.  Don't think it's a specific Shure part#.

Crown has a FAQ about that.  See here http://crownaudio.com/kb/print/273/

Upon closer look the 310A is a handheld so I'm guessing you really mean 311A.

Yup. Thanks.  I just modified the subject and the OP to disguise my mistake.  :)
