I use Applied lifts as well.  L11's are great little lifts, don't weigh much, you can drop the Applied 4-bar right into the socket.  If you need more height L16's are pretty decent.  I'm short (5'6") and I have some difficulty putting the truss in the adapter then cabling on top of the truss.  But only by about an inch, and that's just me and my short appendages.  I prefer Genie lifts (or Sumners) but I understand that you probably don't want/need those for your use.
