Ferrite beads and CFL noise
« on: February 20, 2015, 06:51:53 PM »

I posted over in the H.O.W. regarding interference in our sound system that I am sure is being generated by CFLs.  (Most likely lamps nearing end of life.)

With MIke's mention of ferrite beads here, would they be worth trying on all cables going to mixer?  We are looking at 40-50 cables-would this be  a waste of time and money or a reasonable attempt at mitigating the issue?

There is a lot more to ferrites than just popping one on.
Jim Brown being both past AES committee chair on EMI/RFI and a Ham radio operator, buys ferrites by the 1000 for his Ham radio group.
