Looking at a possible powered system.
« on: August 28, 2013, 02:40:04 PM »

Hi,

Im currently in the market for some new powered tops. We currently use 4 JBL SRX715's or when needed a small (5box perside) peavey versarray rig. What I would like to do is purchase a few powered tops (trap boxes) to replace the JBLs.

Budget is about $1500 a box
Looking to cover up to 700ish people
Typical venues are clubs and warehouses, most common is 40'x100'

What can you recommend?

I was looking at the DB technologies flexsys F212, 2 or 3 perside, but can't find any reviews on them or a place to demo.

What can you recommend?

The SRX won't cover your typical audience?

In the same ballpark, but maybe not quite up to par with the SRX series is the PRX.   Retailers have big markdowns on the 600 series to make room for the 700's.

Take a look at the PRX625 and PRX635 and see if either one of them might be close to what you want.  They can be bought new for $800 per box now

The RCF TT series in a 1 per side arrangement may fit the bill.

+1 We just had a customer purchase a pair of TT25A to replace a pair of 715s, the RCFs sounded good when we demo'd them and he is happy with the upgrade.

+1, the TT25A's are great boxes.  The TT5A's may be a contender as well, but are a bit over stated budget.

Im looking into the TT series but they are out of my budget. Unless one perside but I don't think it will have enough SPL.

Here we go again.

It's not a vertical array box.  Standard trap cabinet.
