Ivan, it's time for me to come out as playing both sides of the (speaker system) field.  I design systems with conventional "point" sources and I design systems using "line" sources... and... GASP.... sometimes the system design for the venue/artist uses BOTH AT THE SAME TIME!!!!

I have no shame.  8)

And at least one time, a hybrid system was used in an Audinasium/Gymnatorium built by the WPA back in the Great Depression.  It sounds like the OP's facility is the same.
