01V96 holding value
« on: August 20, 2013, 10:45:18 AM »

I had a barely used 01V96. I was concerned that it's value would drop dramatically soon with the advent of the new generation of digital mixers. That still may happen. I put it on ebay at $1200 and it sold in an hour. So far the yamaha name is still respected.

Congratulations, but your sale was more based on cost than the name, which has always been respected.

If you look at the history of the board, they are selling anywhere from $800-$1400, although one particular seller has sold all of the ones for $1399.  Makes you wonder if they are selling to fake accounts to keep the value high on eBay.  Hmm.

That would not be surprising. If you're honest and can think of it, unscrupulous people can think of it quicker, yes?

Usually, price fixing schemes are counterproductive unless someone has the government helping with the price fixing.
