Problems like unseated ribbon cable connectors are more often a result of rough shipping than shoddy manufacturing.  It's a long, hard road from China.
Wouldn’t that be a log hard ocean from china.  :)

If it can’t stay together on the sea cruise how is it going to take all the trips in the back of the truck?

It seems to me that the things that work their way loose are not supported well enough. In the case of cables there probably should be better strain relief, or anchoring in the design.

If the ribbon cables are inserted by machine (most likely) the process needs to be examined, and "tweaked". It's not likely that it can't take the road - more than likely the robots that assemble need to be adjusted.

Many/most people on this forum operate on a professional level beyond my pay grade, but I've never worried about warranty issues for things like re-seating a cable. Seems like a company would be glad to have someone fixing something rather than them doing a simple re-seat.

Best regards,

Most gear does not seem to fall apart, it's the few odd, out of place items that do

I recently had one of the big lighting manufacturers suggest I do this to fix a glitchy LED par. I opened it up and everything essentially was soldered down anyway. The only thing I reseated was the case screws and then my backside in the beer drinking chair.

Back in the old days we'd just smack the side of the case....

Had a "budget" EQ like that once.
Bought it second hand for a B rig.
Every 4 or 5 shows it sounded like rice krispies. A sharp smack in the middle of the back cured it for another period.
During yearly maintenance I normally pass a vacuume and compressed air through everything (with covers off) and have a close look at all the connectors.
Guess which XLR socket wasn't soldered to the circuit board......
In all fairness, the other 3 were soldered in just fine.
Friday afternoon assembly ??

Chris.

Sometimes that still works, sadly more often than it should.

I'm sure all the dents we see on land/sea containers have nothing to do with shipping, and all the operators of machinery between the factory in China and the UPS truck never have subjected any boxes to over one G force  ;).

JR...

I believe that's termed "percussive maintenance".
