Wall mount for 44lb projectors
« on: August 01, 2013, 04:26:21 PM »

What's out there besides using a short throw boom and aiming the projector the opposite way?

Church needs two long throw projectors mounted to the back wall of the Church.  Projectors are 44lb each.
I am unable to attach these to the ceiling so going straight into the rear wall is my only option.
Am I better off building a shelf instead of using an arm and mount?

It may look cleaner to do a hush box with some ventilation.

It depends on how industrial you want it to look but whenever we've needed something like that we've fabricated it in house. Usually we make them with either a male or female 1-1/2 NPT nipple where the projector attaches so a standard chief rpa series mount can be used (or changed in the future). If you wanted more of a DIY you could make a triangulated bracket from unistrut that would be plenty strong if designed right. It's just not going to look nearly as clean.

Peerless PWA-14 is my go-to item. Available in Black, White, or Silver, and has an industry-standard 1.5"NPT connection on it.
