Shure 184 pinout for 3.5mm Sennheiser beltpack?
« on: July 25, 2013, 02:23:03 PM »

I need to cut the TA4F connectors off a bunch of Shure wl184 Lav mics and re-solder 1/8th minis on to use the mics with a Sennheiser EW500 series RF beltpack.

Anyone done this recently and remember the pinout?

Thanks,
Theo

Red wire to tip and black & shield to the sleeve.  No connection to the ring.

I haven't done it yet so I can't verify.

The ring should be shorted to the sleeve!

Countryman has a detailed list of how to wire their mics for the various brands of packs. http://www.countryman.com/wireless-transmitter-wiring
It doesn't tell you specifically how to convert from one to the other, but all the info is there for you to cross-reference and figure it out.
