Groups will work just fine. The key to success is to keep the audio paths separate in every way. don't share effects, etc., separate all the way to the cabinet.

Another advantage to this type of system is the ability to run different cabinet types without fear of combing or an inter reaction between the cabinets. example, I ran SRX722s for vocals and 725s for the backline, side by side. Stage wash is the only problem you may run into but it will be so minimum as to cause no harmful effect
