Where to get Flexible Cat5 cable?
« on: July 02, 2013, 06:52:08 PM »

I currently use cat5 to run my video feeds, but hate trying to coil up & re-use long stiff cat5 cable.  Where can I find something a little more flexible / more for "touring".  Looking for 100-150 foot cable.

thanks

For flexibility, you want stranded wires. Most brands of Cat5 cable are available in both styles (solid and stranded).

DuraCat is one type of rugged, "mil-spec" style cable system...there are certainly others.  Search th forums for rugged CAT5, etc.

+1 DuraCat cables.

We use two 150' DuraCat cables for our church projectors. We're a portable church with setup and teardown every Sunday. We've had the cables for a year now and they are holding up great.

When I was looking for replacements for the bulk, cheap cat5/6 we were using before, the DuraCat seemed to be on the lower price end compared to some of the other similar cables out there. I wouldn't hesitate to buy DuraCat again.
