X32 console setup.... Assign lights flashing
« on: October 23, 2013, 06:29:02 AM »

Last night I unpacked a new Behringer X32 mixing desk, turned it on to get an idea how to set it up, and the number 7 & 8 assign buttons are flashing. I couldn't find any steer on this in the manual.  So haven't gone any further.  Any thoughts on why they'd be flashing would be welcome.

Welcome to PSW!

I think those assign buttons are assigned by default to a couple of the delay effects(fx 3 & 4) tap function.(with the associated rotary encoder also changing the delay speed. You should be able to tap them a change the speed they are flashing which changes the delay speed. Also the scribble strip screen above the flashing buttons should tell what they are assigned to.

Hope this helps,
Tommy

Dear Geoffrey,

Tommy is correct about the assignment of the buttons. Out of the box,
those buttons are assigned to be a tap delay control for the unit that
is in FX slot 3. This should be a Stereo Delay and you can confirm by
pressing the EFFECTS button that is to the right of the screen. If you
would like to see how all of the Assign buttons are setup, press the
VIEW button that is located at the bottom right of the Assign section.
This will tell you what each rotary knob and button are assigned to.

If you have any questions on the X32, please feel free to send me a PM
or contact through the thread.

This may be a duplication (getting used to how this all works)... thanks for your responses, much appreciated!
