well...researching on the internet is too easy nowadays. Looks like the X32 is the winner, proven and the smaller "compact" or even the producer version looks fantastic. I'm not running a $100k facility and this looks like the ticket for the next "round" of gear for the project studio. If I can't make things click and sound good with this setup, a killer i7 PC and my ears, I've got bigger problems.

People are apparently 'thinking outside the box' and looking at products like the X32 RACK as an option for a number of purposes other than as a mixer, for example as a matrix system processor. The price and form factor really do seem to offer an opportunity for some creative applications.
