I have FINALLY started my LAB Sub Build.  The throat panels are being cut tonight - should be cutting the rest of the cabinet this weekend. All of the panel cutouts and angles will be cut on the CNC router.

Do you have / are you willing to share the cad drawings for this?

I am using the published dxf files from the lab documentation archives.  the only difference is that I have added tabs for internal alignment of the panels.

Tabs are gonna be great once I get them in the right place.  Pieces are held in place with some masking tape.  Need to work on the flares a little bit.  I will have to machine 2 sides in order to get a perfect fit.

Fixed the flares - machined 2 sides - fit like a glove. I have some concern with the rear chamber volume.  I have looked through some of the archived posts and it seems that there was a version put forth that moved the walls closer together to get a shallower throat and give up some area to the sealed speaker baffle.  This however did move the compression ratio up to 3.  I have an idea for a similar change but not as drastic.  What if I took an 8" diameter PVC pipe - 4" long and inserted it into the upper part of the flare panel.  This would gain me about 200 square inches for the speaker baffle and extend the throat later into the flare aperture w/ a sharper mouth opening which is what the revision was all about.  Any suggestions?

I suggest you draw a picture of what you propose and post it.
Another suggestion would be to model the proposed changes in David McBeans free Hornresp  simulation program compared to the LabSub model and see if it makes any positive contributions.

Hi, I am new to the forum and am in the process of building four Labhorns. I have a question about the flare section and was wondering if this was the right section to ask.
