Thanks Marjan - This project has been fun. I liked the way its turned out so far.  Box is assembled - speaker wire is in - needs final sanding, routing, paint, drivers installed, aluminum plates cut and installed.  Then its boom boom time.

Ok - I will be making some noise tomorrow - my prototype is complete - ready for final bedliner coating

This is a HORN-NOT a ported or IB cabinet.  The same "rules" do not apply.

What you have done is change the two most important aspects of a horn sub-the back volume and the first part of the horn.

Your results are going to be different.  Have you modeled your changes vs the original design?

That should be a FIRST step-rather than second guessing the design.

  Yes.   You have functionally changed all of the parameters of the cabinet except the drivers.  This new design of yours will not perform as the lab sub was designed.  If you are experimenting, then publish your results along with the amount of drivers you've "disabled".
