M7cl Editor MIX pre / post fader global selection?
« on: May 09, 2013, 05:13:05 PM »

Frustration setting in with studio manager again.
Setting up a upcoming event with a m7cl 48 maxed out on ins and outs. (wrong console for this job)

I'm trying to get a head start on this show in studio manager. I can't find a way to globally change a mix from pre to post fader.
I can do them a channel at a time from selected channel. but I want to make mixes 9-16 all post fader.

Anybody?

Thanks

Quite frankly, the quickest way is to borrow a console just long enough to do that, save the console file, and then get back to the editor.

Many handy shortcuts are missing from the editor, including this one.

See Gundala's reply below for the correct answer.

Thanks Milt, I was afraid of that.

Go to any of the pre/ post buttons in any channel, right click the button, there will be the 'all pre' and 'all post' global option for the entire bus in the editor.
Attention:
this works on the M7CL Editor but NOT on the LS9 Editor !!!!

Go to any of the pre/ post buttons in any channel

Please go to your profile and change the "Name" field to your real first and last name as required by the posting rules displayed in the header at the top of the section, and in the Site Rules and Suggestions in the Forum Announcements section, and on the registration page when you registered.

I could swear I tried right clicking all over any pre /post button and got no pop out window.  I will try again.

Another method for changing pre sends to post is to go to mixer setup under the file menu and make them all be fixed mixes, then change them back to variable, they will all be post. It does not work the other way.

Don't worry. It didn't work in early versions of the editor. IMO Yamaha changed it when V3 came up.

back then when it was unavailable in StudioManager I created this tool to fulfill exactly that task: http://www.trbtr.de/pmw/pmwiki.php/OpenMix/Ymixtools

it also works for LS9 and PM5, but has some limitations...
