Any experience with Marani DPA processors?
« on: May 20, 2013, 12:04:16 PM »

Been looking for some affordable DSP and the Marani DPA units appear to be a very good value. Anyone have any experience with them?

Never heard of them but according to their web site at http://www.marani.com.cn/en/feedback.asp they don't seem to have any US distribution so I'd be interested in knowing if they have certification and support for the US.

All of their units seem to be fixed architecture devices with either fixed routing or a simple I/O matrix while the input and output processing seems to vary between units.  So I guess whether they are even a viable option would depend on what processing and routing you are trying to accomplish.

I found them through B&H photo video: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/891823-REG/Marani_DPA440A_4x4_SPEAKER_MANAGEMENT_PROCESSOR_7PEQ.html

I'm still totally new to dedicated DSP units. Looking for something with at least 4 inputs, at least 4 outputs, at least a 4th order crossover for each input, PEQs and time delay.

Looking at http://www.marani.com.cn/en/probig.asp?id=32 it looks like seven band PEQ on the inputs but no EQ on the output side of the I/O matrix.
