Thanks again all for the responses! I've run into some snags and have ordered a four-channel, basic mic preamp to get the levels up. The mixer is an analog VDJ mixer made by Numark. I selected it as it was able to handle multiple s-video or composite cameras, and multiple audio inputs allowing me to accommodate a wider array of scenarios for our webcasting while spending very little money in comparison to professional solutions for video mixing. The model is an AVM-02 & it's coupled with the VM03 MKII LCD system.
I'm actually going to RCA line-level inputs. It's a DJ mixer so it has a nice array of such inputs, and lacks elsewhere. Apologies for not being clear on that. I am able to get the mics into the acceptable range, but EVERYTHING is cranked to the max
I think this little preamp will give me just enough boost to keep everything at nice levels while keeping everything inside my portable rig.
