Radian 850PB 2" compression driver
« on: April 06, 2013, 08:12:11 AM »

i recently bought 2 new Radian 850PB 2" compression driver for rehersal room pa/drum monitor speakers. these are the finest 2" cd i have heard. they are so smooth and detailed you could use them in a home hifi system. i crossed them a various points using an Ashly XR1001 crossover from 800hz to 1.5k. the horn i used is a DDS 2-65pro. the woofers were Ciare 12" model NDH12-4. i have the Radian 950PB and the 850pb just sounds better.

Years ago we A/B'd Radian 850 on KF850 bell next to TAD4001 (with genuine TAD diaphragm) on KF850 bell. With sweeps from a function generator (B&K) there was the tiniest of margins in favor the TAD. With listening material it was a dead heat. At higher power levels the Radian had lower audible distortion.

BTW- Those KF horns were also manufactured by DDS.
